Municipal Elections

The municipal election will be held on November 7, 2021 which is when voters will elect members  of the next municipal council of Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier.

The official list of candidates for the general election of November 7th will be available on the site of Élections Québec – candidates.

DATES TO REMEMBER:

 

September 17th, 2021:

Election period begins

 

September 17th to October 1st, 2021:

Nomination period; if more than one candidate is running for the same seat the election process continues

 

As of October 12th, 2021:

Receipt by mail of a notice indicating the names of the electors entered on the electoral list and the places, days and times of revision of the electoral list

 

October 21, 2:30 to 5:30 pm and 7 to 10 pm: October 22, 10 am to 1 pm:

Revision period

 

October 31st, 2021 (9:30 am to 8:00 pm):

Advance voting

 

November 7th, 2021 (9:30 am to 8:00 pm):

Election day

ELECTOR’S GUIDE

MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTIONS: YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO VOTE!

It is important to check your registration on the list of electors with Élections Québec, in preparation for the November 7 municipal elections. Do it now with the Web application or at Élections Québec.

Then, during the electoral period, you will need to contact your municipality to update your information. So make sure your name is written correctly on the notice the municipality will mail you. If it is not there, you will need to go to the location indicated on the notice to have your name entered on the list of electors or to modify your registration. 

Remember that in order to vote, in addition to being entered on the list of electors at your domiciliary address, you must meet the following conditions:

  • Be 18 years of age or older on Election day.
  • Be a Canadian citizen by September 1, 2021.
  • Not be under curatorship or have lost your election rights.

In addition, you must:

  • Have your domicile in the municipality and have been living in Québec for at least six months.
